Award-winning chefs, renowned culinary authors, producers, artisans and innovators share their passion for food during a weekend of delicious tastes in the heart of Stratford’s garden and heritage district. We are celebrating our culinary roots with an outdoor market featuring more than 150 regional farmers and artisans along the banks of the Avon River. Meet culinary experts at 30 tastings and talks where you can learn about everything from balcony farming to pressure cooking to pairing sake and sashimi. On the Culinary Stage in Stratford’s Market Square, meet celebrity chef and cookbook author, David Rocco Top Chef Canada Season 1 and 2 winners, Connie DeSousa and Carl Heinrich leading cooking demonstrations. Relax in the Beer and Wine pavilion or take in scheduled tastings. Stroll heritage gardens, see tractors and farm animals up close and introduce children to culinary activities at the Kids Tent. Two entertainment stages feature regional performers along with street performers and buskers all weekend long. The weekend kicks off with a party along the Avon River on Friday evening, September 21 as Fanshawe College transforms the street into a funky culinary village with eclectic street food stalls and free music for the whole family.

The Culinary Cocktail Gala reception, hosted by honorary chairs Peter Mansbridge and Cynthia Dale, is a great place to meet the Culinary Festival’s culinary guests and learn the Stratford culinary heritage story founded on more than 150 years of food. The theme, ‘Celebrating our culinary roots’ will be explored at this exclusive event held at the Avon Theatre.

Kick up your heels with Dry County, the baddest band in country music, at BBQ, Blues & Brews – Southern Style, our Saturday Night party. This event has become a favourite and takes a southern twist this year with a menu of southern fried chicken and ribs inspired by traditional southern pit barbeque style and served alongside Ontario craft brews.

The Savour Stratford Sunday Tasting, the signature garden party event of the Culinary Festival pairs 30 celebrated local chefs with producers to create seasonal morsels to savour complimented by Ontario VQA wines and craft beers under airy tents in Market Square.
