Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh anaheim chilies cutinto 1/4
  • 1 cup white cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 1/2 pound ground sirloin beef
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Recipe Method

1. Place the chili strips in a bowl and stir in cheddar cheese. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

2. Wet your hands with cold water and divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions. Working quickly, pat each portion into a patty and place on a plastic wrap covered plate. Cover and refrigerate until ready to cook.

3. Just before cooking the patties, generously season each site with lots of salt and fresh ground pepper. Grill the burgers until your desired doneness.

4. Brush the cut side on the hamburger buns with olive oil or butter and place on the grill to toast the buns.

5. Assemble each hamburger using one grilled bun topped with a cooked patty. Drop a large spoonful on the cheese mixture on top of the meat and then a big spoon of New Mexican Salsa Verde.

Enjoy!
