Ingredients

  • 20 broccoli, florets, fresh
  • 1 tbsp onion, green, chpd, fresh
  • 1 tsp ginger root, raw, thinly sliced
  • 4 tbsp stock, chicken, prep f/recipe
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
Beef Marinade
  • 12 ounce-weight beef, flank steak, l+f, 0"tr, brld, Thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp sauce, soy, dark
  • 3 garlic, raw, clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger root, raw, minced
  • 1 tsp oil, sesame
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Recipe Method

1. Sliced the beef as thin as possible to ensure quick and even cooking time.
2. Marinade the beef in a bowl with the soy sauce, garlic, cornstarch and sesame oil and leave in fridge for at least 20 minutes.
3. In a small pot boil some water. Once the water starts to boil add the broccoli florets and blanch them for 30 seconds before straining them.
4. In a wok, add 1 tbsp of oil and start to stir fry your ginger and green onions for a few seconds, before adding the beef. Continue to cook the beef for another 3 minutes.
5. Add your broccoli and cook for 1 minute or two before adding your chicken stock with the dissolved cornstarch in it to thicken the sauce.
6. Lower to simmer and cook for a few more minutes before serving.
