1. Preheat the oven to hot 180C. Lightly grease a 12 hole, 1 cup muffin tin. Beat butter and sugar until light and smooth. Add eggs slowly, beat until smooth.
2. Sift the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder and stir to mix well.
3. Add vanilla and dark chocolate pieces. Pour mixture into the muffins holes. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 180C, or until the muffins are firm. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
