Chocolate Raisin Cake

Rich & moist cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup water, tap
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup raisins, golden, seedless
  • 2 squares semi sweet baking chocolate
  • 1 tsp spice, cinnamon, ground
  • 1 tsp baking soda desolve in 1 tbsp hot water
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt, table
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Recipe Method

1- Bring 1 1/2 cups water to boil. Add sugar, shortening, raisins, chocolate, and cinammon and boil 5 minutes. Let cool.

2- Add all remaining ingredients. Blend well.

3- Bake in 9 inch square pan at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

Add icing of choice.
