Although the cooking time looks daunting, it's actually very convenient. Once the ingredients are in the pot, you're free to do other things for 2.5 hours and then presto, awesome dinner!
1- Heat up oil in Dutch oven. Brown meat on all sides.
2- In a bowl, combine wine, chives, garlic, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Pour over meat.
3- Cover and simmer for 2-2.5 hours, basting occasionally.
4- Remove meat from pan and keep warm.
5- Remove bay leaf.
6-Skim fat from pan juices and add water, if necessary, to make 1 cup of liquid.
7- Blend sour cream and flour and gradually stir in half of the pan juices. Return mixture to remaining pan juices in Dutch oven. Heat and stir until thick and bubbly.
Pour sauce over meat and enjoy!!
