A nice recipe I have made for years. For my husband I put in more cayenne pepper and for my daughter I omit that ingredient because she doesn't like spicy things.
1- In a saucepan cook onion and garlic in oil over medium heat. Add meat and brown ( I sometimes use ground turkey). Add seasonings, if you like it really hot and spicy add more
2- Bring to a boil; partially cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Add well drained beans and cook for another 15 minutes longer.
I grate some cheddar cheese on top and sprinkle chopped
